I joined this faction in Gamma. One of my favorite members of the faction "CounterNUKEmissle" convinced me to join. The leader "Da Bomb Expert" now known as "Teufel Hunden", was once the Co-Leader/Co-Founder of HAX before leaving. Da Bomb Expert helped recruit the top players in HAX, that helped the faction run as well as it did back in the day. Eventually, some of those players moved on to join him in Da bomb Squad. The best way to describe this faction is as a "Elite" faction. Now I use the word "Elite" to describe factions that ended up staying alive and becoming great. Back in gamma, there was an original Da Bomb Squad that ended up being disbanded. This one had 32 2v2 wins and some great players. When the Bomb Squad finally made it's return, I noticed that there were many key ideas to him running a successful faction. I think his persona of leadership in whole, is really what makes his faction incredible and everlasting. He Utilized the Head Quarters and the Head Quarters Note Bot. He was always using it to talk about goals and aspirations for fac, dailies, flags, etc. This really made it personal & less of a blind pursuit of medals. Now in EpicDuel faction history, there have been a few factions that used varium to bribe. Not once has he ever done this, and IMO it only tarnishes your factions reputation and makes your members look desperate. When I was in Bomb Squad and HAX, both leaders treated everyone & myself like a family. A family of individuals.
Control Alt Death
Turkish was one of the three founders of "Control Alt Death" founded on June 14, 2011 along with VIX and GoldSlayer1 .
Another non-var TM from beta, He practically ate NPC's for a living with his flawless win ratio. I believe he may hold the record for most solo wins from a F2P player which from what I last saw was +62,141. I could be wrong as it's really close with syfy & JariTheMighty. Doc showed items don't always make the player.
One of the best Founder Bounty Hunter NPC Killer's. Sparti was also in the THREE STAR AND A SUN faction. He was one of the few players who didn't get banned for cheating like many of the other members did. Sparticus was one of the few BH's that used the Frostbane, and everyone was absolutely baffled at this time in the game, an energy weapon on a bounty hunter? :O He used Reflex boost and Energy shields, and the EMP grenade. Faction leader of "Retired Old Farts". F.Y.I he is a retired old fart :)
The main officer of the "Legit" faction founded by Angels Holocaust. Ex-1v1 all-timer. Bunjira was among the players that really put out a good fight every time I encountered them. This dude was just super nice to a lot of people.
A dominating 2v2 faction that made it onto the 2v2 all-time with 13 titles. Founder was 5050, a ex 2v2 all-timer. Honorable mentions to top officers Joker X & HALOS who have been there since the beginning.
Control Alt Death was founded on June 14, 2011 by VIX and GoldSlayer1 and TurkishIncubus
There were 2 generations of CaD. 2nd generation took place after the first was disbanded.
Control Alt Death has won 12 consecutive 1 vs 1 faction victories from June 14 to June 27.

Shundraa & Pebbles were just awesome. Shundraa was originally recruited by the leader of ED GLADIATORS faction; SmokinAces. She was their for a while until the faction got hacked, leading to Shundraa soloing for quite some time. She kept receiving many requests to join factions, so she decided to make her own to stop the invites. Eventually, the faction evolved to become a contender with the best factions in the game. They worked as a team along with Shundraa's amount of patience to understand every faction member is different. Wise words once said by Shun: "Respect each other in game, play for fun, & always smile :)".
Ur non-varium FEAR!
Wish I had more to say about this guy, but he sat there in silence and created some of the games most popular builds, let everyone use it, and didn't say a word while being a non-var player. I mean this guy was seriously underrated!
The Master Mage
One of the first high level Tech mages who gave his advise and was very kind. He was a role-model to many. Flath had an insanely high win rate for a mage as seen here: https://imgur.com/nmmBqqf. The last time I spotted this guy was in Khannibal's clan "Terra" but it seems he's vanished. I would say he reached his peak in beta. Sadly at the time, the varium GAP had made if far too easy for varium users to win many battles and resulted into boredom and inactivity. Players such as Flath are examples of players who have competed almost endlessly and now, are inactive.
The X Factor
Founder, Leader, Main Recruiter. Ex-Moderator.
Originally known as "Daphne" https://imgur.com/QTaGfl7 , Dax started the DSX faction in early January 2009 with two other members. He quickly became the most well known and respected mage in 1v1 battles due to his knowledge of creating builds for all classes and his leadership skills in the faction. A good chunk of mods came from under Dax. On the original EpicDuel forums, Dax was voted by players into the "Best Mage of Beta" by a considerable vote count. Dax was made a Moderator of Epicduel in June, 2009, and continued to have one of the best factions in the game. Dax was a fabulous Mage, he was the "Mage Doctor". If anyone needed help, he was always was there to aid. Players think because he's a mod he had special privileges, well during beta he was a beast with his major skills and great balanced stats. Used caster skills along with a staff and decent support. It didn't stop with TM...Dax and Donna Matrix created some OP BH builds. Dax achieved 1305 1v1 wins in a single day as a str BH. Battling players like Dax was fun even if it resulted in a lost. Seeing the progression and the building to what this faction is today, it was amazing.
Clever Co Leader X
Donna Matrix was a moderator from AE that came over during the merge between AE and ED. She was originally the best member in her previous faction, but left and was recruited by IcyGlacier after the faction went inactive. Donna was ever-ready to go 24 hours straight to win a 1v1, 2v2 or World Domination title which makes her an incredibly valued player as well as a very motivational officer. Not long after joining DSX, she was promoted by Dax to co-leader and helped out with recruiting.
IcyGlacier, better known as Icy, was one of the first members of DSX and founded it along with Dax and Corum. After a short leave, he returned with Donna and recruited her to DSX. Icy and Corum are known for convincing Dax to change faction flags and officer titles at random. Icy was rather comical. He was also an Archknight on the AEF and worked on all the website/forum work for DSX. Regarding him as a player, Icy probably made a lot of peoples "most hardest players of ED" list. He really knew how to play as a bh, whether it was playing as a strength bh or 5 Focus bh; you could always count on him to get wins at a very high ratio.
Corum was one of the oldest DSX faction members and is the only member to have a continued stay in DSX since day 1. However, due to his somewhat sporadic activity, he was always poked by Dax to be reminded to obtain weekly requirements. He was also the self-proclaimed chief slacker of Epicduel! However, he was incredibly loyal and was respected by most people in ED - even those who didn't like DSX. He usually used Dax's builds; and had fast & high % wins as a 5 focus or str build.
Screen shot from when he was still " AVA": https://imgur.com/9dgdMwiAVA . Probably knows more about EpicDuel than many other players. As an Archknight for ED on the AE forums, he created a FAQ and many guides/builds for Epicduel. He was good at creating personal builds and getting wins at day start. He is level 40, but I'm unsure of his activity.
Retired DSX officer
I lost track of Smokin's faction status after she left DSX. SmokinHot had the ability to get lots of wins in a short time-period. During the earlier days of the faction, she could be counted on to put 400+ wins on the daily leaderboard.
One of the best mages around.
His videos were simply some of the best for learning maneuvers and strategy. Endtime started playing this game in mid-December 2009. He was one of the most experienced & well geared players out there. This guy was incredibly smart: knew exactly how the class worked and played it to perfection. It was extremely hard to get wins against him because not only did he have a great build, but he also had strategies for every build out there. Plus he heal looped like crazy, not a single health booster wasted. At level 30 he had discovered the healer mage build.
Some memorable highlights: (I managed to keep tabs on a lot of old forums posts)
-He discovered the reroute, deadly aim, and malfunction from .Angel. (a former 2v2 all-timer).
-The first top player he saw was Sparticus, who at the time was using a utility claw, high smoke screen/massacre build.
-The first top level player he beat was Gamal.
-Endtime was actually in THREE STARS AND A SUN--the top faction at the time--Until he was informed of the 100 kills per day rule. He was too busy with real life for this. Eventually he met Deboise. When he talked to him, he let him join Brotherhood and he has been there since.
-He was insanely unhappy when Field Medic was set to 4 cooldown and agility was enforced.
-Played as a support TLM until a future update.
Jumped his heart out at Central Oz
One of the lesser known Non-variums. He quit the same day he made it onto the 1v1 all-time.
Really good TM at the time. A lot of other non-var's could have learned from this guy back than. When he was a BH: https://imgur.com/7YAQeAuA
Amazing in their prime
Black Knights of chaos was created before they even had faction badges, founder is Sir Lazarus (1v1 all-timer). In fact, Sir Lazarus only had about 1,500 wins when he started the faction. Very few did that kind of loyalty to a faction besides Laz and Wiseman as i remember. As quickly as they completely owned the game , they left. Still had dozens of consecutive solo victories and previously held the solo wins record for factions.
A great tech mage who has come up with some very interesting builds. Her builds didn't always work, but when everybody was 5 Focus, she went for the high dex, caster build in Gamma. Was always working to get better.
Ionut 100 actually did extremely well as a Tech Mage. From what I've seen, he has gave opponents some pretty good battles. In early Omega, ionut could achieve a 80% win rate with BH.
Did anyone ever keep track of the amount of alt factions she created?
Seriously! I think it had to be 7-8? Regardless, I'd say the most popular factions were "The Girls of Buffy & "Legion of Buffy". The Girls of Buffy were often accused of cheating... I'm not here to confirm or deny that, but from my experience; I believe they were a pretty solid faction. If there was a "most mysterious player award" your looking at her. Didn't know her personally, but despite what some people might say she was very loyal (to god forbid how many factions she has).
The Royal Blood
This was a faction that was made in Gamma. The leader was an 1v1 all-timer "TestBuild". TestBuild had been an original member of THREE STARS AND SUN back in alpha. Once V3 disbanded the faction, Testbuild quit until Gamma. One thing to add that many people didn't know is, when he made this faction, he changed his name to XxCoyotexX. He later adverted to his original name TestBuild. A few noteworthy players that were in the faction were Velvet Cheeks, AxeOFury, and Da bomb expert. I eventually left this faction due to inactivity. This faction obtained 7 1v1 medals. The faction was never disbanded.
One of the main killers in Knights of The Round
F.J was one of the first players to get 5 stars when 5 stars just came out. F.J. was a merc in a time when a lot of people were BHs. He reached peak ratio of 78.3% in 2v2. He was the first merc to not use his multi in 2vs2.
Champion Crunch (One of my favorite officer titles he had)
JariTheMighty was a true mercenary class master. Most remember him for being in Knights of the Round for most of his career. He made a few boss npc builds and he is great in both 1v1 and 2v2. He adepts fast and he was no push over in 1v1 or in 2v2. He will always try his best and his builds are always effective. He also won 1v1 during beta as a merc when there were loads of heal loopers mages every where. I mean seriously, this man never gave up. He has accomplished quite a lot. JaritheMighty went without investing a single penny into the game. He was one of the few rich non variums like New Hope, Doctus etc.
Best non varium 2v2 mercenary and one of the best 2v2 overall
Who remembers when New Hope came around and was the great sensation for non-variums? She was the queen of 2v2 with these insanely high support and str builds and even made it to the All-time #1 spot as a non-var before she retired. Last whereabouts I have heard is that she went over to AQW. She talked to everyone & she's kinda reminds me of "fay beee" but in 2v2 instead. Also unless someone can prove otherwise, she has the most 2v2Wins from a F2P Player. Stats: https://imgur.com/bG8tIkf
Faction screenie: https://i.imgur.com/mB5hxLi.png?1
Founder was "CLUTCH HIMSELF" ( He had two other names, one of which was "The Clutch One" can't remember the other one ). Not a day goes by that I don't regret seeing Truly Clutch on leaderboards. Believe it or not, Titan mentioned Truly Clutch in one of the design videos here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wHNwDNixBEc&list=UUyQytzpscg1nI-HKdxL2ibA&index=14 at 4:08. Another thing to note is this faction had a hacker tear it apart, losing some of its medals. This faction came back from the dead & started recruiting just before Omega and had the most 1v1 wins done by a faction in Omega. I did always love the faction name "Truly Clutch". I would consider this guy a pro because he truly understood the mechanics of the game and could make a build all on his own. This was one of the more fun competitive factions. This faction was indeed "Legendary".
Quit really early.
He had a brother that also played by the name of "Rafshan X". Sadly, despite him being a all-timer, not a lot of people knew about him because he fell off the leader board so early. IIRC he was in a few ED youtube videos, but I can not seem to find those anymore. I have no information on how he performed in battles. As far as factions go, I only have a screenie of him in "Snake King's" faction "Lords". Players like Epicness (now known as Epic) & LambO were in this faction.
Unbeatable Girl & was very kind
I remember when Velvetcheeks got on all-time 1v1 her win % was higher than Angel's. Not sure what her overall 2v2 ratio was, but surely +70% and she often hit +80's% on daily with ease. Manged to also be on both 1v1 & 2v2 all-time battle modes at the same time. She is currently in TestBuild's faction. Now, from what a source that I would consider believable told me sometime ago, velvet was inevitably disabled for dummying. She apparently quit on Velvet for 4 months, than started to dummy on a alt. Despite this mistake, I consider her career a legacy.
The Copy Ninja
Started out as a new player with 30% wins and not having any good items. Flash forward to him getting 80%'s on the 2v2 daily & reaching the all-time 2v2 leader board. He was one of the only few good support & poison Bh's. This dude was super nice and as I'm sure many know, he's been in "Super Freaks United" forever. He actually wrote a post in the forums stating he was quiting back in 2011. However, I ran into him at some point in Omega for the first time ever & we instantly talked up a storm, added him to buddy list & called it a day. I still don't think he has fought a battle since 2011, but if he logs, I'll let people now.
Founder of "The Ruthless Brigade"
Yo Gotti had some of the best factions ever. IIRC Ruthless Brigade was a merged with iamawesome's faction "Elemental Void". The intention of the merge, from what I understand, was to stop CaD's domination...I don't know where the issue was in the faction, but they fell short with that plan. As a player,he was truly one creative merc, he combined support with focus and used it to get fast wins and a high ratio.
One of the most chillest players ever to grace ED
Funny story: He was forced to change his forum name from DBag to MrBones.
PRIMAL ASSASSIN still plays which is enough motivation for me to continue playing.
TL;DR: Primal is a cool dude who is skilled with years of experience in 2v2.
PRIMAL ASSASSIN has put a lot of work into his 2v2 win percentages (outside of all his trolling) , so don't be surprised for a skilled 2v2 player like himself to tell their partners what they see from experience is the best move for them to do at that moment. Primal actually quit back in 2012 when he was at rank #9 on 2v2. I believe that to be his highest position, but I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm wrong. He will personally go down forever as one of the greats in this game for me. Primal has had quite a few name changes, the ones I am most familiar with are "0sama Bin Laggin" & "Ben Dover" ( did I mention this guy is a A+ troll?!).
I actually feel so bad for him and the other 70%+ 2v2 all-timers when their win % was removed from the all-time. But I guess thats why I'm here writing this story, likewise with many of the other oldies I have wrote stories about; so more players will know of their legacy & never forget their epicness. Believe it or not, primal is one of the few players that actually made an attempt to stream this game in the older phases.
Me & Primal actually didn't formally meet until Omega phase in the "Variation" faction. We were actually apart of the same factions in older phases, "Knights of the Round" for example, but never spoke. I think his proudest faction he was a part of was "xDidoOox killers team". Ever since the variation faction, we have remained a package deal & continued joining a few facs together. We both currently reside in SyFy's/Alley's faction: House of Sin.
So...lets get into some of his builds. He has been all classes many times over. However, I think everyone & even primal himself, knows him for playing a TM:
-First player to solo a 2 vs 1 boss, the armour hazard.
-He is the one who made the caster build in delta (with the beta weps). It was very powerful and I remember him getting 90%+ daily in the 2v2 leader board.
-I've seen Primal using no malf, but pure max Plasma and Multi build with about 160-170 mp. It was defeating a few players in 2 shots.
I feel like something worth mentioning, is primal was a ED/AQW youtuber who sits at 108k total views. Despite him being lot younger when he made these, I feel like he never got enough coverage: https://www.youtube.com/user/AQWdavidi6/videos
Knew what she was doing 1v1 wise, while maintaining a friendly and positive/constructive attitude.
Character inventory showcase: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nq_vSb8uFFo
His builds were always OP
Played multiple classes. I think he performed best w/ TM as a 5 focus, but him & urFEAR were also some of the best BC mercs.
98-1 on daily 1v1:
60-0 on daily 1v1
Not one of the all timers to be celebrated about.
This dude got banned for botting juggernaut for 100+ days, than got his account back. His faction possibly was one of the best overall and/or jugg factions. For some reason it seems a lot of players don't care considering they decided to bot themselves. Personally, sorry dude; you aren't a legit player to me.
Some of most of the skilled 2v2 players were in this faction. Had one of the most stacked 2v2 roster I have ever seen.
Created by a founder named "King Devil..", now known as " King.DeviL. Cool little 2v2 faction that never disbanded.
Came up with real technical builds and he even was the first TM to beat Big tuna (Tuna was one tough cookie back then).
One of the most well known 1v1 & 2v2 non-varium TM's. He also beat George Lowe with no frost weapons and with non-varium equips! He won his 1v1 medal and 2v2 medal in early beta. Just a little info, it was hard to win 1v1 medal in early beta as a non varium and it was hard to win 2v2 as a non-varium mage. Further more, he reached commander before any other non var. He was the first to reach that rank as a non varium. First F2P to obtain the Treasure Hunter Achievement (Jari was the runner up).
His personality was exemplary. B9000 was just as comfortable chatting with high level varium players as it was to speak with anyone. He treated everyone equally. Never felt feel that he was below anyone just because they are non-varium.
Most Gamma players and above do not remember him.
Better faction screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/1g4dUIv.jpg
Defeated Legendary God of War as a low rank TM.
Another one of the few bh's from the time that was a savage.
Legends aren't always good people you know... Stats: https://i.imgur.com/yXQpujO.png
The only reason why he was number 1, is that he dummied or was botting so he could go away from his computer. Gamal WAS banned, then before the old ED forums went bye-bye, he was released from jail and decided to change his name. Shortly after his unbanning, for better or for worse, he left the game behind.. Even though he cheated, lots of people know him. He had his own fan club, a faction named "gamal lovers". Gamal was a full varium bh.
At the end of the day, Gamal DID help the devs showing them how he cheated, so he'll stay neutral for me.
One of the top mages back in my days.
Deboise actually used an "archangel" build way back with max overload + loads of dex and it was pretty darn awesome, maybe it won't pull through now-a-days but it was still one heck of a fun build.
Made some of the most funniest faction titles and character names I've ever seen.
Forums Signature: http://i345.photobucket.com/albums/p384/smackieelfrog/siggy_zps93f4dec2.jpg
Smackie El Frog was also extremely good at this game. I remember 1v1ing him in Beta, those matches were some of the most intense matches I've ever had. Some of his character alt/names: Master Betty, OFMGWTFBBBQHAXOR, La Furia Roja, Dr. Horrible, Dwarf In A Flask. Smackie achieved a lot of war kills back in the day & was the first player to reach 2 blue stars first. Also one of the few players who received the "Omega Photographer Achievement".
Would be great if a few TEC's members had some words to say (I know your still out there).
Played mostly as Tlm, Merc, & CH.
This faction was made after the original dixie chicks was disbanded, miraged and morrigan were the co-founders.
Engaged in many communities throughout various stages of Epic Duel.
Was in "Renegade Masters" faction, which I believe is made up of some of the most amazing people in the Epic Duel community.
Became the first gamma player to have 2 blue stars.
Was hands down the best focus user I've ever seen in this game, it saddens me that him and Smackie quit.
One of my favorites from Beta.
One of the most helpful and friendliest players around. He ran a great support merc build during Gamma that just obliterated every player. He also had some of the funniest names, like Teh Cookeh Monstah and Toilet Papeh. Was among the group of very chill and competitive players.
Old name was "Teufel Frau".
Once he retired from a moderator, he made a faction called "Blackwood Mercenary Corps".
Historical staple faction within the Epic Duel community.
I was not in this faction for long, it was a bit to inactive at the time for me. However in saying that, I will not undermine the imprint this faction has left on the game. As many of you already now, the leader was a founder named "Shadeeze". The faction was created just to really have fun. While many factions disbanded (it is still active to this day), this faction remained focused. It was like a family, even though many members came and left, you were still considered " Hive". Hive actually grew so much it split into 2 factions with 1 in each faction alignment. Both factions had the same HIVE ideals & the same rules were applied. Shadeeze was also one of the founders of "Federation Elite". I think id be kidding myself and the community if I didn't mention Nemesis30. He did quite a bit for Hive, and I know if we had time to acknowledge all the dedicated players in the Hive, this guy would have received a big thank you.
The builds he used and his understanding of the game are the reason he has one of the highest win rates in this game.
This individual created a faction during 1.0, "Deadly Legends". . He didn't bother on getting the best players, he wanted players who were active and he got them. With his facton getting 10k influence a day he absolutely ruled the WD board and was a one hit wonder as he made a faction, won 14 WDs in a row, then disbanded.
Most Tokens Donated by a Single Person: Shundraa - 134,425 tokens= https://imgur.com/eGkx6
Old name: Shundra
One of the best mages in the game. At a time, was the only player on 1v1 all-time that wasn't a founder
"always the syfy" - one of the most dedicated players.
1st non varium to be on the 1v1 all-time list during gamma, and never left the all-time after that. I think she is the best non-varium mage and non founder mage of all time.
